I was always welcomed into the Charlton household by Dave with food, wine, a game of Rummikub (which he was the King of) and occasionally a funny outfit. Dave liked his gadgets, his work van, wearing shorts and tinkering. Dave was wise, clever, witty, he liked things done proper and always appeared pleased to see me! I looked after Pearl (the cat) last year so Dave & Gilly could sail to Cape Town (see photo) for an amazing holiday and boy I'm glad I did. Paddington Bear has become a little more special to me. Dave was a loving husband to Gilly - you felt it whenever you were in their company.
